Still survives where I went to school. Every year this small school has a "Halloween Carnival"--it's been going on for well over 30 years. It's a fund raiser for the school, and lots of fun for the kids. This year's was last night.
As I walked around the gym, I noticed that they were giving away water pistols as prizes (all sorts of little kid games, bigger kid games, raffles, etc.). I noticed one game set up for little kids was a toy double barrell shotgun that fired foam "bullets" with rubber suction cups on the ends at a deer target. I bought raffle tickets on a Mossburg shotgun.
Of course things aren't like they used to be when I was in school--older kids had guns in the gun racks of their trucks (most every boy, and some girls), teachers asked the older students to borrow a pocket knife when they needed one......and nobody ever got shot, or cut, or stabbed. Can't do that anymore, but everyone at the school still speaks English, and students and teachers that are Christians aren't afraid to state it.
Nice to know there's still a little bit of sanity left in the world.
