Default Should there be a max?

I'm trying to get anaswer to a question at the same time some on this board feel taxes need to be raised even higher.

Should there be a max on how much someone could earn/year?

What is the max percentage someone's of earningsshould they have to pay at gun point in taxes?

No, we're a capitalist society.

Zero, no one should ever be held hostage for the benefit of goobermint.

I have never favored raising taxes, if left to me both the federal and state goobs would be drastically reduced so that they would no longer need nearly as much money as they're currently extorting from us.

I agree Kev. that the government should be reduced in size, but that will never happen with the self perpetuating juggernaut that we now have. There is only one way to start down the path to reduction and that is (as I've said 100 times in here) TERM LIMITS for ALL elected officials. But, will that ever happen??

Fieldy,
I'm definately not in favor of raising taxes and haven't really seen anyone on here who is a proponent of that.[:'(]

Anyone who thinks taxes need to be raised is, quite simply, an idiot.

Bush supposedly gave huge tax breaks to the "wealthiest people in America"... blah, blah, blah. According to the statistics, I've seen, the wealthiest ten percent are paying a much greater percentage of the total now than they ever did during Clinton's tenure (and the bottom 50% of wage earners are paying a significantly smaller percentage). And, revenues are at an all time high. Raising taxes will have a negative impact on the economy, reducing growth, and will result in decreased revenue. This is something the Socialists... I mean Democrat party seems to have forgotten since the time of JFK.

We need a consumption tax, income shouldn't be taxed so I guess I can't answer that question.

Vote Hillary in, and it wont matter. She will take your profit and use it for the over all good. Say bye bye to capitalism and hello to socialisim.

I have to disagree with that statement. There are plenty of liberals lurking around here who believe in big goverment.

Take my tenant, VC1111, he believes the goverment should own your healthcare. Someone has to pay for it and that means more of my income must go there to pay for it. In Wisconsin, the Senate just passed "Healthy Wisconsin". Every body is entittled to so called free healthcare. The problem is, it going to cost 15.2 billion. That's 3 billion more then they all ready collect in income, sales, and corporate taxes (which are nothing more then another hiden income tax). Someone has to pay for this BS and I'm tired of seeing over half my pay going to the goverment and hearing Dems say that's not enough.

$15.2 Billion? Man, they're doing something wrong! Hillary says she can cover the entire country for a mere $110 Billion.

Good ol'Charlie Rangle, feels the "Rich" don't pay their fair share. Proposes a 1 trillion dollar tax increase. That's before Hillary Care's bills are going to be needed.[:@]
