So what about the condors that stray from the unmarked boundaries of their "range" and consume carcasses containing perfectly legal lead shot or bullets? I have a feeling that their "range" will be extended to cover this.

May not be all thats extended.Im not gonna argue leads toxic, theres a reason we dont paint babycribs with lead base paint anymore

But as an example they banned lead for waterfowl hunting here when they went nationwide with it, lots of grumbling among waterfowl hunters but there were other {more expensive} types of shot available and they have improved and expanded on those since the ban.
But for no apparent reason that I could see they shortly afterwards banned lead shot on all public hunting grounds.WTF??Now you have to buy a 17$ box of shells thats not as effective to hunt anything on state ground, the only exceptions being deer slugs and I think turkey loads. This had nothing to do with waterfowl, they fly out into the privatized agricultural ground to feed not into the grassy public areas where I hunt pheasants.Actually the pheasants dont even feed much in these areas.Yet leads still legal in the private ground they feed in, go figure
