Considering her situation, I'd find it amazing if they wouldn't let her carry. There is no way the government can keep every individual safe. Prohibiting individuals from protecting themselves is crazy.

To me, that should be the bigger issue. If she feels she needs a gun to protect herself from her X then more power to her but what if her X showed up at the classroom door? Do bullets start flying with the kids in the class in the middle? If her personal life is in such a state that she needs firearms for protection then perhaps she should not spend a third of her day in a school full of children.
