Politicians that lie? Imagine that . It is laughable when one party claims the other party lied. Why is it news when someone claims a politician lied? Is this some new trait in politicians, some new style of politics that just showed up? It would be more news if a politiciantold the truth .

That was one of Kerry's campaign points ... something about how Bush's first term would be the first presidential term since ... can't remember, maybe Woodrow Wilson ... to lose jobs? Guess what: Even with 9/11 blow to the economy, Bush's first term yielded an increase in jobs.
Personally, I don't consider this a lie, just a bad decision to rely on forcast estimates. Those estimates turned out to be wrong, so Kerry's claim was wrong. Of course, Kerry called Bush a liar about WMD's, even though he (and countless democrats) relied on bad intelligence. I guess by that standard, Kerry was a liar about the supposed job losses in Bush's first term.
