Now we have Price Discrimination Laws?

Heard this today and almost laughed to death. Women sueing Apple for "Price Discrimination" because Apple choose to lower the price for the I-Phone. Can she be serious?

Man, I should have saved all my receipts. I'm sure over the course of the last 35 years, I've bought lots of stuff that later went on sale. I could get rich by suing Wal-Mart and Target and Sears and Best Buy. I know have got a couple hundred DVD's that I paid $20 for that now sell for under $10...

I was thinking Car manufactures do this all of the time. You buy a car one week and the next week they hand out thousands of dollars worth of incentives.

From what i understood, Apple offered a refund of the difference to those who bought the phone at a higher price.

Or was i mistaken?

I thought that Apple offered a $100 credit for Apple.com to the individuals that bought an iPhone right when it came out, but I could also be mistaken...

I read about this. She bought the phone hoping to sell it at a huge markup, like the Play Stations that sell for thousands just because they are hard to get at first. By the time she tried to sell her phone, the price had dropped enough that she couldn't sell it. That caused her "damages" to the tune of $1million. Yeah right.

The sad part is, we know a jury will side for her. This is going to be another frivilous lawsuit that will change our lives.[:@]

Depends on the jury. A bunch of bleeding heart liberals would for sure. Its just like that family that was trying to get a lawsuit out of mcdonalds for making them fat. They claim they ate it every day. Hmmmm maybe I could use that.

I don't believe any jury is going to side with this plaintiff.

Seems to me though that Apple's marketing plan on this thing was ass-backwards. Why not sell the phones at first for cheap (or even give some away) to create a "buzz" then jack up the price. I know thatmany times the tech industry kind of works in reverse in regards to my theory...but we're talking over the extreme short-term herethat this thing blew up in Apple's face.
