Default Bugs Bunny: not fit for children

As some may know, my son (only child) is now the ripe old age of 6 weeks.Recently I've given thought to what things from mychildhood I would like him to experience.

My favorite cartoons when I was growing up was Bugs Bunny and all the Looney Tune characters (the Classic ones made famous by the voice of Mel Blanc). I still like them today but they don't come on TV anymore...even on the cartoon channels and I always wondered why.

I found the warner bros. website where you can order about 10 hours of those classics and thought that would be something he and I could watch during his toddler years. I am not promoting a lot of TV in a kids life, just something here that is memorable and a heck of a lot better, imo, then kids programming today.

On the website they had the disclaimer:May not be suitable for children. ForAdult collectors only.

These are Bugs Bunny Cartoons!!

I wonder if it's the "hunting" aspect in many of them...or perhaps the violence (blowing things up with "ACME TNT", etc)??Just doesn't seem right with all the bs currently on TV that these things don't live up to some standard suitable for children.

They probably have a liberal in charge of making those decisions...

Or because Bugs liked to dress up like a woman quite frequently. Probably because of the "violence" of cartoon characters bashing each other with ACME gadgets. Just tell them to step away from the looney toons and go play Halo 3.

Mike,
If that was the case then you'd think it would be mandatory for kids to watch...so that they could learn "tolerance"[:'(]

Nope, then Hillary's base would claim false advertising.

I remember various references to alcohol in the Looney Toons, and references to ***anese as "***s". By today's standards, this is not children's material, I would guess.

Actually I think your a lot closer with that statement then you might have though, I seem to recall someone raising hell about the cartoon characters crossdressing a while back but I cant remember if it was the news, a talk show, or some newspaper or magazine where I seen it.This is gopnna drive me nuts now[:-]

Couldnt be the violence, you see the crap they have out now?All of those chinese {maybe ***anese??} ones they show like pokemon and several others are nothing but fighting.
