Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Saddam tried a quid pro quo.......

as I heard on the radio coming home, a report said that a month prior to the US going into Iraq, Saddam offered to leave Iraq and go into "exile" for a one billion. I do not have a link yet, but believe it to be true. What opinions on this do others have?

Welp, I suppose looking back now that it's a lot easier decision (although the report I saw also said he wanted to take secrets from weapons programs also), but I still think we made the right choice. I mean, how do ya figure.....if you kill someone they fry ya, but if you can kill a whole bunch of people, as long as you can make the government spend a lot of money in order to get you, then you can leave with a billion dollars (stolen, extorted, etc.).

I think that the choice to demurr that offer and hunt him down like the mad dog that he was turned out to be the right decision.

I agree with the decision not to bargain with a piece of poop like Saddam, as he would have made himself known for killing folks and being dangerous again in no time from exile.
Saddam got off easy with only being hung.
