Isn't it called war? One of the problems with this one and Nam is that it is/ was difficult to identify your enemy. One way to weed them out I suppose.

Shooting people that pick stuff up in the street is indentifying the enemy?

If you find a pistol lying in the side of the road would you pick it up?It would be irresponsible not to even if its just to go home and give it to the cops.Take it a step further and say the police planted the gun there and arrested you for it as soon as you picked it up.By creating a situation you otherwise wouldnt be in they have broken the law and entrapped you.But somehow the fact theyre muslim and live halfway around the world means the same logic shouldnt be applied?Dont people pick stuff up on the road in Iraq normally unless theyre terrorists?This isnt identifying an enemy, its creating a scenario in which people get killed doing whats actually a pretty common thing to do.

Good point peta. It just appears to me that the enemy over there is just about everyone. It is probably a good thing I am too old to serve because I wouldn't be all that picky when it comes to protecting myself. Our soldiers there get a big wave and smile from the people then as soon as they pass go a button is pushed and the IED goes off. I guess my expectation of winning a war is doing everything you can to end it. The 2 nukes we dropped on the ***s resulted in hundreds of thousands of civilian colateral damage but saved US lives by bringing a surrender to the table.That kind of action probably wouldn't be considered in today's PC way to fight.
