Senate Goes On the Record
In a vote of 72-25, the U.S. Senate passed a measure that expressed"the sense of the Senate that General David H. Petraeus, commanding general, Multi-National Force-Iraq, deserves the full support of the Senate and strongly condemn(s) personal attacks on the honor and integrity of General Petraeus and all members of the United States Armed Forces."
The group MoveOn.org was not named specifically, but was clearly the prime target. Basically, it was a chance for the Dem. leadership to distance themselves from the group and show full support for the troops. Guess who either didn't vote, or voted against it? Obama "had to go" 20 minutes before the vote, Clinton voted against it. Doesn't take a genious to see who they are loyal to--it ain't our troops.
To their credit, 23 Democrats did vote to support the measure.
