Russia tests 'dad of all bombs'

MOSCOW, Russia (AP) -- The Russian military has successfully tested what it described as the world's most powerful non-nuclear air-delivered bomb, Russia's state television reported Tuesday.

[/align][/align][/align]It was the latest show of Russia's military muscle amid chilly relations with the United States.

Channel One television said the new weapon, nicknamed the "dad of all bombs" is four times more powerful than the U.S. "mother of all bombs."

Putin dissolves Russian government

You know what is scarry about this. It will be like every Russian made weapon, it will go out to the highest bidder. Look at all the Russian made weapons that litter the Middle East and Asia.

Putin has pulled away from us relations to some extent and now has a hand in forming the replacement. Not a good sign for great us and Russian relations.

It ain't a big deal folks. Just more propaganda to get our liberal whiney, doomsday media excited. Fuel-air(FAE) bombs have been around since WWII when they were used bythe Russians against German troops. They used coal dust then. The US had a FAE bomb about this big during Viet Nam: It was filled with propane. The bomb would burst open, the propane would disperse and then milliseconds later the cloud detonators would ignite the propane.

Huge FAE bombs do not work very well. The US later went to a cluster of three smaller bombs fueled with ethelyne (sp) oxide. These are now gone as well. The UShas a newer family of FAE bombs.

FAE bombs do not work very well at all in wind over about10 mph.

Yea, conventional weapons dont really pose the threat that they used to. Its the actual militaryengagement with Russia that scares me.

of what? are people THAT afraid to raise arms these days? does military conflict(inevitable between humans) worry this country enough that we have FEAR of what others may do to us? worry, slight worry, is warranted..but NEVER fear anything or anyone. Even the Supreme Commander in the Sky told us: Fear Not!!! words to LIVE by.
