Liberals have no class, no character, no integrity
This national ad by MoveOn.Org attacking General Petreaus is disgusting, to say the least. I never thought I'd see the time when Americans would attempt to destroy the credibility of a man leading OUR forces in foreign battle in an effort to force the end of a war. The old phrase "we support the soldiers but oppose the war" doesn't hold much truth when these kind of tactics are being employed. It's disgusting and borderline treasonous.
You want to oppose the war? Fine. We can debate that, are debating it, and have been debating it. But to run ads attacking the character of the man in charge of our troops in the war? You might as well go side with the enemy.
I realize MoveOn.Org doesn't speak for Democratic politicians in Congress, but considering you have folks like Democrat James Clyburn saying that a positive report from Petraeus would be damaging for the Democrats, and considering that Democrat leadership in Congress isn't likely to denounce the actions of MoveOn.Org . . . well, draw your own conclusions.

Aren't you painting with a broad brush here? I don't think Moveon represents even a significant minority of liberals. Is David Duke representative of conservatives?

Suppose that would depend a lot on if Patreaus is gioving a factual report or padding the facts to give Bushs deciscion to stay more support wouldnt it?They cant both be right about events in Iraq, someone lying and sadly theres a lot of that in Washington right now.

Move On.org is a total bunch of scumbags, no doubt about that. i did not like the waythat some congressmen/women treated the Ambassador and General "Petraeus today. here are a lot of different stories about progress or lack of progress in Iraq. The US military is doing a good job, no doubt about that. However, Iraqi military performance is pretty shabby. The Iraq police force is worse than useless; they are corrupt and many are either terrorists themselves or are aiding terrorists.
i watched a retired four star testify before congress on TV the other day. He was the head of a DOD study group. This guy totally refused to state whether or not Iraqi group two forceswere capable of taking overmore of the mission from US troops.
Without a doubtthe white house is not above lying and hiding thetruth.This may extend to the JCS. But i do not think that military commanders in the field will lie. i will stand behind General Petraeus and his fine troops.

Both parties use every opportunity to leverage themselves at the expense of the American Public. When we are at war the political hacks need to take a vacation until it is over. Both the GOP and Dems are just as guilty. The only thing that seems to matter to them is their party. Next they will probably address themselves as Comrade. [:@]

I have to agree on this. I always lean to conservative values and ideals. But I have been getting emails from the Republican party in MD attacking ever little thing that the new democrat (which I don't like), in office is doing. They don't care, as long as they get office again. But while this governor is in, I hope he does well for the people.

Bingo. Long time ago Lyndon Johnson was the US Senate majority leader. Everett Dirksen was the Republican minority leader. The two were very good friends and often had lunch or dinner at each other's homes. They accomplished a lot back then. Today we have this hatefulpartisan polarization and near total gridlock. Today in DC there is no mingling outside ones own party.
Next year we can send a message to both partys by voting to can all the incumbents in the US House and all senators who are up for re-election.
