RE: Larry Craig Poll
I say D because he pleaded guilty with a lame excuse he was looking to make it go away. Either way he is hurting his party and will be avoided like the plague. Closet fag outed from John should be his headline.

E) He does not resign: he was elected and re-elected by his constituents several times over. He is a hypocrite and should not stand for re-election in 2008, or at least he would need to come clean on his sexual orientation and let his constituents -- who heretofore have believed him to live a conservative lifestyle -- vote on him.
As far as being guilty . . . of course he is guilty, because he has pled guilty in a court of law. This is the meaning of the term "guilty." That talk about making the wrong decision to plead out, that he didn't know what he was doing by making that plee .. . yah, right. Why can I understand the finality and irrevocability of that action and I'm just a little guy, not a US senator steeped in the law and courted by seas of lawyers? However, I'm assuming being found guilty of a misdemeanor is not grounds for dismissal from the US Senate, hence it is not clear to me why the guy would have to resign. Probably the biggest reason pushing the guy to resign would be the embarrassment he is to the Republican party.
One point, the guy was repeatedly stating he wasn't gay, he wasn't gay. This may be a true statement. He may be bisexual rather than gay, meaning he swings both ways depending on his mood or his partner.
Craig needs to resign now. If he does not resign this week, then kick him out. After the Foley debacle, the Republicans do not need Craig and his trashy stuff.
I don't think a guilty plea to a misdemeanor means you should resign from the senate. He should stop lying, answer appropriate questions and run for re-election based on his record. Let the people decide.
I'm kinda torn on this one. On the one hand, I agree with Beau Ouiville that a misdemeanor shouldn't necessarily mean instant resignation from the Senate, but then again I don't know all the details either. On the other hand, I'm glad to see Republicans calling for his ouster instead of making excuses for him.

RE: Larry Craig Poll
Details....on the other hand....come on Ben. Time for all of us to demand honesty from our politicians. Like most positions of authority there must be a code of ethics for all to abide by and honesty is a cornerstone of ethical behavior. If any senator or public official is found to be lying about anything they should be fired. After going through the pain and expense not to mention waste of time during the Clinton/ Monica affairone would think the public has had enough. With 300 million people in the US you would expect that there are at least 100 honest people who would qualify for the Senate. I could give 2 hoots about Craig"™s sexual orientation. The fact that he chooses to experience that life in an illegal way and lies about it gets him the boot from my perspective. A leading member of our government who gets his sex illegally in a men"™s bathroom can"™t be the type of person I want to run our government. The sad part of all of this is the fact that the US public has become accustomed to more of the same. It seems that every few months another similar story comes out. Corruption and abuse of power are good starts to a crumbling government.

Sen. Craig should resign RIGHT NOW and disappear into obscurity. What a hypocrite!!! I mean, the dude was pretty much like most us - hunter, outdoorsman, NRA member, solid republican, married with kids, etc...etc... but yet unlike us, he had a twisted desire to get freaky with guys in a mens room!
