Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Dog Attack

Yeah, a vicious dog attacked the Mrs. the other night. Off the leash, ran about 20 yard straight for her, and put two deep punctures and a few lighter scrapes into her left shin. It wassmall mix of some sort, maybe 25 lbs., with black hair. The owner got her dog and ran off as soon as it happened. The folks at the local hospital, between rabies shots, faxed a report over to the health department. They in turn posted up wanted signs, and a neighbor turned the woman in. The dog is over a year behind on its rabies vaccinations, and will be quarantined for a few weeks.

I'll let your know if they kill it and section the brain. It's not certain whether the county will prosecute the owner for breaking the leash and vicious dog laws, or fleeing the scene. Our own options areopen at the moment.

If the department decided to kill it, you should get to do the honors. Sounds fair to me.

Sounds like time to have your lawyer test the limits of her homeowners insurance to me. Wake up NT, you're being paged!

I just went through a similar event here and in this state the owner isn't liable unless the dog has been documented as viscious to the owners. I guess first bite is on the house so to speak. I guess you have to take matters in your own hands if you want results. SSS

Six, I'm sorry to hear of that unfortunate incident involving your wife. I hope she has a full and speedy recovery.

This represents a classic example of the difference between a "typical" dog attack and one by a pit bull. If it had been a pit bull, it wouldn not have just nipped and run and she would probably still be in surgery instead of just dealing with a couple of minor puncture wounds[:@]

Stealth bait all set and trap ready there Lanse.
I have it on good authority that he is traveling out of the country in search of some wild meat that doesn't have any growth hormones. Don't dispare though he will see the bait when he returns...he always does.

Thanks, guys. We're checking out personal injury lawyers. The second and third rounds of rabies shots are off until the health dept. checks out the dog, so Mrs. Six is breathing a little more easily. Five injections into the shin really seems to suck.

I thought that there had been recent improvements in rabies treatment so that the battery of shots isn't necessary.
