Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

U.N.: 2007 seeing record extreme weather
Global land temperatures in January, April likely warmest on record
'More frequent' extremes predicted
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a U.N. umbrella group of hundreds of experts, has noted an increasing trend in extreme weather events over the past 50 years and said irregular patterns are likely to intensify.

I think I know where this is going, it's all George Bush's fault...

Regardless of whose fault it may be, if anyone, what's the magic answer? Shall we just shut down civilization for a few hundred years so that the environment can start to recover? Or should we just reduce the damage we're currently doing and begin cutting back on our population? Or maybe we should just stop worrying about things we have no control over and adapt to what is happening because we sure as hell can't do anything to stop it.

I think "adapt" means to do what the UK and the U.S. did during WWII when Hitler first went into poland......aka......do nothing.

We'll, I did my part. I introduced Gas-X to my family, and all the hurricanes that we were supposed to have last year and this year have not happened. I think everyone should do their part. This is the only earth we got.

The earth has been going through "climate change" since it became the earth. Deserts were once tropical forests, tropical forests were once deserts, Glaciers have melted and then got frozen again. Perhaps polution does have some effect but probably no more than thousands of volcanos in the earth's early life spewing gases, dust, etc. (pollution?) into the air. I have yet to see any convincing evidence that this isn't a "cycle" that the earth goes through in its millions of years of life.

I'm going to sit back pop a few beers and just wait for the cool cycle to begin. We're not the cause of Global Warming so we can't control it anymore the trying to make it rain tomorrow.
