I don't know why I bothered to turn on the Democratic debate and watch that bunch of clowns. But someone asked a question on YouTube about gun control. The question was "We all want to know whether our babies are safe." Then he reaches off-screen and picks up an assault-style rifle, and says "This is my baby, purchased before the 1994 gun ban. Are you going to protect our babies?"
After Bill Richardson had his turn answering the question, Joe Biden is asked for his response. He says "If that's his baby he needs help," with a disgusted shake of his head. Then he proceeds to talk about the man's mental capacity and ends with an absurd statement about "I hope he doesn't come after me with that gun."
That's probably the most disgusting thing I've ever seen in a political debate. Regardless of your feelings on the issue of the 2nd Amendment (I know how we all feel about it on here), to make comments like that is absolutely absurd.
You just had to see it for yourself I guess.

Fieldmouse, from the looks of things I won't be voting Democrat or Republican. But, no, I certainly won't be voting Democrat. I can't imagine a worse field of candidates than what the Democrats have fielded. The Republican field is pretty bad, but at least there are a couple of the second-tier Republicans who are pretty decent.

RE: Joe Biden on guns
That was the beauty about the debate format Ben. Questioned came from the general public and were not screened. The candidates had to think on their feet and many of the answers gave a good look into their minds rather than the results of scripted responses concocted by their spin doctors. That one answer by Biden certainly told a huge story about how he views guns and the people who enjoy them. He is out of the mix now and I will be curious how he deals with it. His advisors will be working overtime to repair that slip.

Biden is a whiney anti gun, anti self defense liberal. Ditto forthe other Democrat candidates except for Richardson. Unfortunately, the anti-gun record of the front running Republicans is just about as bad as that of Biden.
