Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Question of the day

Many here have stated that the far left wants us to loose in Iraq to gain the White house in 08. Do you think some on the far right would like to see more terro attacks in this country for the same reason?

With the quality of people involved in government today I don't feel either side would let the well being of America stand in their way of being reelected.
These people have already sold any part of a sole they had left just to be elected.[:'(]

I honestly don't think anybody credible on the right or conservative side wishes for more attacks on America. Most conservatives that I either speak with or read/listen to their opinions would like to see our border security improved and would like to see a successful conclusion of Iraq and Afghanistan, etc.

The Dems, on the other hand, appear to feel compelled to oppose Bush on the Iraq war, etc. as a means for getting elected. I don't think mainstream liberals want us to lose the war (some of the nuttier ones do unfortunately) but I think their perspective on the war is overshadowed by wanting to win in 2008 and simply not wanting to be in a war to begin with. It's unfortunate but this leads to looking for any reason to bail out of Iraq and Afghanistan and that will likely lead to a widespread conclusion that we lost those wars.

In his first interview as the chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party, Dennis Milligan told a reporter that America needs to be attacked by terrorists so that people will appreciate the work that President Bush has done to protect the country.
"At the end of the day, I believe fully the president is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [Sept. 11, 2001]," Milligan said to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, "and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country."

That is completely different from saying he "would liketosee moreattacks to happen." Guys on the right say enough stupid stuff that you shouldn't have to twist things around to create an argument...

I believe that most Americans simply want our soldiers, squidlies,Jar-heads and wing-wipers out of Iraq and Afghanistan and the left is taking advantage of pushing for this to happen. I do not believe that lefties want us "to loose." With that said you will have some lefty nuts that would want us to loose.
I also do not believe righties/neo-cons want additional attacks against the U.S. and Americans. Again you likely have some nuts that would relish them though.
Both ends of the spectrum suck.

Just showing an example of something that had been said didn't twist a thing, never said that person wanted additiional attacks.

I asked a question wether anyone thought some on the far right might see this as a vote getter.

If I was using that to create an argument it would have been in my first post.

Well, I'm a long way from the far right or even right, but I can understand the sentiment that it will take another large attack on U.S. soil before Americans universally truely take the war on terrorism seriously as a longterm endeavor. But that is different from saying that you hope that such an event occurs.

Of course. The vast majority of the politicians don't care about the US people. They're a bunch of aristocratic phonies. That should be obvious to you, it's the way the government has been since day one. If they care about US security, they have would never invaded Iraq.

Besides, at what point do you decide that the US is "winning" in Iraq? Deaths are on the rise. And Iraq wants the US out. This war has created many more enemies killed hundreds of thousands of people, wasted billions and billions of dollars, and messed up many many peoples' lives, and for what? If you want there to really be a change stop voting for the lesser of two evils, get informed, and vote third party. Stop watching the corporate media.

This so called "war on terrorism" is nothing new, Reagan said the samething in the 80s. It's all just a lie, a tool to invade countries to gain corporate control and geo-political dominance. It's imperialism. And if the US wants to survive, this needs to end.
