Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Any of you guys and gals heard of Ron Paul?

I was just curious if any of you had heard about Ron Paul. He is running for Pres in 2008. I have been following him for a little while now and find what he has to say interesting. Just curious to hear what others thought about him.

Personally I have never been a big Reagan fan, so the Reagan pimping does not do a lot for me. I guess I find the following a bit contradictory is one way......

As a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Dr. Paul tirelessly works for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies. He is known among his congressional colleagues and his constituents for his consistent voting record. Dr. Paul never votes for legislation unless the proposed measure is expressly authorized by the Constitution.

I don't know much about Ron Paul, but if he is a strict constitutionalist in the libertarian sense, then he believes the constitution provides for a more limited government. The two things would not be contradictory, at least in his mind.

I agree w/ him on every issue except the war in Iraq & his foreign policy. I think its strategically important to put our military throughout the world. It pushes our security limits away from the states. And allows us to kick @$$ within in minutes anywhere on the globe.

However,
He'd be great for our economy and make us the great nation we once were financially speaking. I'd vote for him if he got on the ticket. If he adjusted some of his foreign policy ideas it'd be awesome.

The problem would be gettin congress to pass his ideas... he's a little extreme, and those money hungry politicians wouldnt like him at all! You think the press hates Bush? imagine whenPaul tried to cut social programs. They'd be saying he eats poor little minority babies for food! And laughs when the poor people die!

I read about his views on his web site a while ago and think he would be a great president. I dont know if he can win the primary, but if he makes the ballot he has got my vote. (so far)

Thank you all for your opinions, I too agree with much of what he has to say. He is coming to Iowa to speak this Saturday. I am planning on going to see him in person. The Iowa ChristianAlliance is sponsoring a caucass whichdid not invitehim to speak, so he ishaving his ownon the same day after the Iowa Christian Alliance one sopeople can hear what he has to say. I personally am amazed by how much censorship is being done on him. I have friends that have my-space pages that mention and talk about Ron Paul and what he stands for that have had their web pages canceled for talking about him. Here is a video showing it happening. I was shocked when I saw it. And it seems you never hear about him on tv. The only reason I found out about him it through one of my friends.

Ron Paul is the only Republican candidate who will give a straight answer to any question asked. He also stands a snow balls chance in hades of being nominated.
