After reading up on prison life recently, which gave me more than sufficient motivation to remain on the straight and narrow, I think I now know why someone would tattoo themselves that way while in the prison environment. Methinks that early in his incarceration he was approached by what the denizens of Shawshank would call "The Sisters", and afterward decided that being a total ******* was preferable to being someone else's girlfriend. My reading also indicated that younger blond white males who appear to lack the ability to defend themselves are considered particularly choice targets for sexual abuse by black and hispanic inmates, which would neatly explain the skinhead reference on his eyebrows.
