Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Whats your take?

WASHINGTON"” Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., has asked the Department of Homeland Security not to deport the wife of an Army specialist who is missing in Iraq while the search continues for him, his office said Wednesday.
Army Spec. Alex Jimenez has been missing since May 12, when his unit was ambushed by insurgents. His wife, Yaderlin, entered the country illegally in 2001, according to Kerry's office, and the two married in 2004. Procedures to deport Yaderlin Jimenez have begun, although an immigration judge has halted the proceedings while the search for her husband continues. The two live in Lawrence, Mass.
"Under no condition should our country ever deport the spouse of a soldier who is currently serving in uniform abroad," Kerry said, in a statement provided to FOXNews.com

I guess this is the first time I would have to agree with Kerry.

So, he married this lady in 04. I assume she got her dependents ID there on the base. Did no one notice at the time that she was illegal?

Here's my basic problem. An illegal immigrant was granted access to military installations in this country. The potential for catastrophe here is immense.

I don't think she should be kicked out, but she did have ample opportunity to pursue legal status between 04 ond 07.

Maybe we can make an exception for the spouse of those serving during war time (granting citizenship). In this scenario they really are doing something to support/benefit this country instead of being a drag on the taxpayer.

i seriously doubt that thewife of a GI isa threat to military security? I'll tell you about a threat to military security. A friend workedat Ft. Hood, TX on an environmental cleanup job.The contractor thathe was subbed to would come to workwith two US citizens. Then he and his underlings would take their crew cab trucks toholes in the fence and pick up their illegal workers.

She should be allowed to stay. Period. Look at all the scum that they don't throw out regardless of how many crimes the commit or how many citizens they kill.

from what I hear, the hearings for her leaving started before she got married, that is why she was not granted a green card for marrying a us citizen. She should definitely be allowed to stay.

I see her situation as a special circumstance & would be ok with allowing her to stay.

There are some who are using her situation as cover for the rest of the illegal alien population & for those who illegally hire them,& that is wrong.
