Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Cash to poor for good Behavior?

Anyone else see this funding a drug habit? Imagine, getting paid to do what a productive citizen/person/parent should do.

While I have no doubt that this experiment will prove to be successful, I think that it is plan wrong to pay people to do things that they should choose to do with the assistance that they are already afforded.

Me? No I am being serious. The experiment will show that they will get more people to show up for appointments and comply with things if you pay them.

IMHO the only way the experiment will be a success is if you could show a lasting effect or change in their behavior. Once the money dries up, so does the behavior. It may work with training dogs but not people. If people are only after the money, they will not become responsible.

for Eaxmple: As suggested they pay parents to go to PTC's. The parent wants the money, gets the money, has no concern about using the info garnered to change anything. They (adults) are taught that the $$ is there for the taking with no real effort involved. Inadvertantly, those doing the study reinforce the negative attitude of those looking for a handout.

I do not disagree with you in regard to long-term or permanent change, but during the length of the study, it will prove effective and you will have some that will pimp it as a solution.

Take their payments and put them in the infield at Talledega Speedway, if they can cross the track and return safely, they can keep their handout. I have never been in jail, always paid my taxes, and have never received any sort of government assistance. My reward, more taxes to pay for those who contribute nothing.

How about paying me so I show up for my job I get paid for? This country is going to the sh!tter because of PC BS like this! Nobody should ever get paid to do what they should anyway. To say this takes social engineering, even communism to a whole other level understates what is going on here. Yet another reason why this country is no longer worth fighting for.
