Do you really feel safer after we gave huge raises to airport screeners? I don't one bit. Now I'm ticked they have decided to bring back the harassment of passengers before boarding the planes on random flights? That make me feel real good in the fact they know they don't do a better job but some how harrassing customers before boarding at radom will make up for it.

The last time that i flew, I was one of the people randomly picked for extra screening. Unless, Al Qaeda has started recruiting Berbers I don't look much like a middle easterner. Kind of a pain, but i was so drunk that I didn't think they would let me on the plane anyway, so I was happy to cooperate.

I am glad we have tough screening in airports, and I'm happy that they can hear my phone call, I don't have anything to hide, so I don't care if they listen to my call, or e-mail, anyone who speaks up against it
'ought to be shot for attempting to jeopardize our security.
I don't ever spend more than 15 minutes passing through security, unless it's Newark, or JFK or something crappy like that, and I don't mind.
I guess it's not too much an issue of using common sense and using racial profiling, it ought to be religious profiling, and almost every time, being Arab is synonomous to being Muslim, so you can't have one without the other, we're fighting Islamofacists, and a person can't be an Islamofacist if he isn't Muslim, and like I said, almost every time, with the exception of some Lebanese Christians and some others, every Arab is a Muslim.
There's also lots of blackMuslims, and yes, even a few white muslims, plenty of them women who were dumb enough to marry abusive, disrespectful Muslim men, who forced them into Islam, and made them wear shawls over their heads.

I have no problem with the screening to get to the gates, except it's anything but secure. I, not on purpose flew with a lighter in my carry on for over a month before I discovered it. For weeks I flew with an Allen wrench in my bag by accident. I was asked if I had one and I didn't think there was one but it was hunting season. They pulled my stuff rescreened and cleared the bag. Two weeks later on a trip I found the Allen wrench in the bag. Twice, I know of people getting through security with someone elses ticket.
What I mind is the senseless screening now brought back before you board the plane. It's a waste of time and it's strickly harrassment at that point.

I was flew downto Mexico in November. WhenI got off the plane and grabbed my luggage I walked through a stop-light (for lack of a better word). I had to push the button and then wait for either a red or green light. If it was green, you walkright through and out of the airport. If it was red you had to go over to a different areaand they wouldtake everything out of your bags and go through it. That is just about as random as there is. And of course it was hot, humid, and stunk in the airport.I thought is was much easier to fly out of SFO then out of Puerto Vallarta. But, YES, they should do profiling, whether its racist or not. IMO
