I used to think that way too, but then I realized I was cutting out some of the best music I've ever heard. Singers and musicians are people too, which means they can be just a misguided or foolhardy as the next person. What sets them apart from others is the music, and that's why I bother listening to begin with. I don't give a crap what some band says about politics on their web site. As long as they make good music, I listen to it.
Come on, the Dixie Chicks had their moment of fame back during the Country fad a few years back, but they're all-but-marginalized today. Sure, lots of stay-at-home moms and mild-mannered children still listen to them. Sowhat? JZ, Kanye West and Eminem could fart and sell more albums than theChicks can during an entire tour. Not only do liberals as a demographic tend to avoid country music, but manyconcevative and moderatelisteners never turned back after those girls ran theirmouths as contemptuously as they did.
