Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

So, Bush is setting the stage for a planned step-down, that he will be able to take credit for prior to leaving office?

Cant remember if it was in here or on the news I seen something about China shipping rotten, contaminatedand damaged goods to the U.S. and customs was having a hell of a time keeping it all out of our markets.I remember it was tied into the contaminated pet food and livestock feed somehow but was much further reaching. In some cases we were turning away the same shipment two or three times as theyd just keep sending it back in.

Were largely ignoring the problem while at the same time allowing them to place restrictions on what we ship there and live up to our end of the bargain by respecting those restrictions.

Free trades not really fair if only one sides living up to it.[:'(]

That's the problem with China, they don't open their markets, tie their currency to the dollar, and we pretend like its some free-market economy at work - maybe in someone's dreams. China cheats like crazy while we poor saps "play fair" as if everyone else obeyed the mythical principles of "supply and demand" Laise Faire economics. China sure doesn't live that pipe-dream, and they're taking us to the cleaners by making their own rules.
Yeah, folks wonder why U.S. companies set up foreign joint ventures or other business entities outside of U.S. jurisdiction... U.S. companies are subject to all kinds of regulations on foreign trade, like the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act,that prohibit payoffs to foreign officials, etc. Other countries don't have those restrictions, so we don't get to play on a level playing field.
