Default Is the border fence going to become reality?

Not if these animal rights people have anything to say about it.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18788333/

I can almost see there point if its the only water source in the area thats being fenced off.Im not familiar with the area myself and have no idea how much wildlife it would actually affect or if it would be feasible to dig in some alternative watering sources.A lot of thier argument such as the brush being cut back is really only a short term set back at most as it will grow back and if its anything like what ive cut before itll grow back within a year or two.Looks like theres some threatened and endangered species in the area as well, wonder how thatll factor in.Sounds like a lot of the refuge areas down there were privately funded as well.Suppose theyll try to reach a compromise or will it just turn into a giant pissing match between them and the feds?

Little or nothing will be done about illegals crossing the US/Mexican border at will. The White House will not hire enough Border Patrol agents to do the job. Local law enforcement will continue to catch illegals only to release them when the INS refuses to take custody. The US crime rate will continue to spiral out of control fueled by crimes done by illegals. The feds willsteadfastly refuse to go after those who hire illegals. That bill in the Senate is 400 pages of Dr. Feel Good trash.

Nothing the ARFs have to say will ever affect any plan for a border fence, and the only wall that will ever effectively repel foreign invasion is a rapidly receding wall of lead.

A boarder fence would be a big waste of money. We got them already in parts of Texas, and they stop nothing. A fence is useless if it is not monitored, and we dont even monitor the border worth a flip as it is, so what good would a fence do. I just feel we will be peeing away a lot of money for nothing more than a worthless symbol. Heck, we keep finding tunnels big enough to drive trucks through already, under the boarder, a fence will not stop stuff like that.

I guess it always boils down to a choice, the safety of some animals or the safety for the homeland of the USA. Some politicians are saying that the fence would be too expensive but have no problem with paying Pakistan 80 Million a month to look for Bin Laden. The Pakistani government has dramatically cut down on the search but we are continuing to send money. Since 9/11 we have given them 5.6 Billion in a futile attempt at finding the #1 terrorist in the world. OBL is probably living along our border"¦it would be safer for him to avoid detection. If a fence can't be built then there needs to be a stepped up surveillance to make it nearly impossible for illegals to penetrate our border. We need to take the train of thought that every single illegal has weapons and intends to use them on us. The border is a joke and we need to focus on our own wellbeing rather than 3rd world countries all over the globe.

We don't need a fence. We need to post .50 cal. machine guns every 1000 yards, with orders to shoot invaders.

Does "invaders" include the wildlife?

Is "wildlife" shutting down our hospitals and destroying our schools?

Perhaps illegals are wildlife. Mow a few down and the word would spread. Shut off the jobs and welfare and they will stay in Mexico. Either build the fence or set up the previously mentioned machine gun towers every 1000 yds. The end result is that they need to stay on the Mexico side of the border.[:@]

To be fair, we probably ought to be watching out for those hordes of migrating Canucks as well. Maybe we ought to put two or three guys on the northern border...
