RE: Rising crime blamed on youth violence and gangs
It's going to take more money than that to fix this problem. It is going to take people actually giving a crap. Often times people get off way to easy on most things, not just juveniles. People have gone soft and hard at the same times. This might sound a bit predujiced but here goes. I knew this african american guy who said that selling dope is the only thing he knows how to do and that he couldn't get a job because he was black. I told him he can't get a job if he walks in with his pants hanging off his butt and a rag on his head because no one wants to hire a thug, it scares customers and creates problems for their buissness because of rival gang bangers, he bought an outfit that fit him went for an interview and got a job. For to long their own people have kept them in opression and something needs to be done to stop it. These kids are seeing their mom's abuse drugs prostituting and being beat, they see their dads selling dope packing guns and pimping women or they are in prison for one or all of these reason and are taught that is how you gain honor and respect, these kids are looking for approval and acceptance and the only ones giving it to them are the gang bangers but what they fail to tell them is that they expect much in return. It is going to take people willing to reform the schools in these neighborhoods and people taking the time to improve the quality of life there. It is going to mean that laws will have to change and these parents are going to have to be held accountable for their actions and not allowed to raise their children in this manner.
