RE: And the Wealthiest Presidential Candidate is....
Great observation. How dare he be rich! Don't they understand success is to be demonized instead of strived for? How stupid of him to run! Clearly, being rich is as sinful as committing murder, right Red Lion?

No not sinful at all, and I guess it strikes a cord with you. Those born to money and/or used to money tend to view the world in a different way than the more common citizen and likely not to have the same agenda/needs. It is obvious that one has to havemoney to afford to run for president, which is the way it is, but not exactly what one would say is real representation of the people.

How much money one has matters little to me when I go to the polls. How they got that money is much more important to me. Where Romney is concerned, he has an outstanding record as a business leader. His success in pulling Salt Lake City's olympic games from the financial doldrums is outstanding.
I probably cannot vote for him, based on his past stances on social issues, but I do like how he has managed the businesses he has been involved in. As I've said before, if we could combine the fiscal knowledge of Romney and Giuliani with some of the assets of candidates like Huckabee, Hunter and Thompson, the GOP could have themselves a fine candidate.

You definitely are correct that the how one has earned $ is really more important that having $.
I also agree with you that there really is no one candidate that is the complete or even mostly complete package. Not just Republican, but Dem as well.
