Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default So it has begun....

The Republicans are starting to distance themselves from Bush in an attempt to save the parties bacon!

Well, they better distance themselves a bit toward the moderate or they are gonna be spending 4 to 8 years complaining about President Hilary.

Its also why Cheney visited Al Maliki to pressure him not to let the Iraqi congress go home for summer break. He knows if there is nothing this summer for the necons to crow about come Nov. there will be enough votes to over-ride the decider's strategery after the fall elections here at home.

Transparent.
Uh, there are no fall elections this year.

I expected as much, and it will just get worse as the weeks go by. Most politicians are concerned more with saving their political butts and what is going to happen in the next election than they are in staying true to their principles, which is why I admire men like Joe Lieberman, who don't let political pressure pursuade them to do the wrong thing.

I will have no respect for anyone who voted to authorize the war who now votes to withdraw the troops, especially in light of dozens of experts telling us that pulling out will lead to chaos in Iraq. All we have to do is look at what happened when the Soviets pulled out and left Afghanistan without a stable government. IT became a breeding ground from terrorism, and was the base of operation for the terrorists that would ultimately carry out the 9/11 attacks. If we pull out of Iraq, the same will happen there.

We'll know very soon which Republicans are men of principle and which are not. We know Bush is a man of integrity (despite baseless attempts by some on this board to suggest otherwise without fact). We'll see how many Republicans stand by him.

Bush isn't the brightest bulb in the Budweiser sign and has done a mediocre job at best of conducting the war. But, his one positive attribute is that he actually "gets it" in terms of understanding the global war on terror as an actual worldwide, longterm, nasty process. And he is willing to take his lumps in terms of sticking with fighting it the way he thinks it should be waged. So, it is both amusing and sad to see the folks from both sides of the aisle who eagerly jumped on the bandwagon now crawling over each other to bail off of it.

I don't think Bush is bright enough to attract a moth , but thats not what this is about.

Maybe I have not made myself clear about my support for the war .As of now I feel it is over and we need out.We went to war with ego's instead of intelligence. We attacked a country of 7 million people with a force of 100 thousand.
This war is about killing terrorists and we are not doing that!
Where is Bin Laden? Some where we can not go? Does that sound familiar?
Four years into this war and we have yet to secure the Iraqi arm's deposits. Who is running things?

Kill them or quit ! I am through playing baby sitter to vermin.
