Default Paris in jail!

Hmmm, Paris Hilton is sentenced to 45 days in the LA County jail? All sorts of thoughts come to mind. A reality TV show? Papparazi bribing jailors for pictures? A book by Paris written in jailtitled "My Struggle."

I wonder if this is the smartest thing that this prosecutor and judge could have done? I think the Hilton's have a lot of money and therefore a lot of influence. Could it be that the Hilton family will have a vendetta against this prosecutor and hound him for the rest of his days, trying to make his life a living hell? Stranger things have happened. It seems that some years back Keith Richards was punished for a similar minor infraction of the law by being compelled to perform a concert to benefit a charity, presumably with his brothers, The Rolling Stones. Could some similar charity benefit have been imposed on Paris that kept her out of jail but benefited the state and sent a messege to Paris?

By the way, I understand the underlying infraction was being barely over the limit -- at 0.8 % blood alcohol (or 0.008%, I'm not sure) -- which is a pretty marginal infraction.

She's a criminal; treat her as such. That has been the prosecutors' public motive since the beginning. Maybe they'll get flak for it, but upholding the law in the face of those acting above it has never been easy. I'm not concerned as much with sending a message to Hilton but to her fans and imitators. No one is above the law.

I have to agree with what Aught Six has said. HoweverI think 45 days in jail would be above the norm wouldn't it? The drivers license suspention for 45 - 90 days would be normal but, 45 days in the slammer?Sounds a bit unusuall to me.

From what I got out of it she isnt in jail for the drunk driving charge, shes in jail because she violated her probation that stemmed from the drunk driving when she drove without a license which is pretty common actually.

My first and only drunk driving resulted in a 2000$ fine, a years probation, outpatient rehab, and a 2 day jail term I had to go back for.Sounds to me like the little twit got off easy to start with and just couldnt stay out of trouble till her probation was over.

I am going from the info given and if that is the case of breaking probation, then tough luck for her!

Judge Sentences Hilton to 45 Days in Jail
May 4, 8:33 PM EST

The Associated Press

LOS ANGELES - A judge sentenced Paris Hilton to 45 days in county jail Friday for violating her probation, putting the brakes on the hotel heiress' famous high life.

Hilton, who parlayed her name and relentless partying into worldwide notoriety, must go to jail on June 5 and she will not be allowed any work release, furloughs, use of an alternative jail or electronic monitoring in lieu of jail, Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer ruled after a hearing.

The judge ruled that she was in violation of the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.

Ibelieve drunk drivers should get more than 90 days. And of course, violating probation is a big, unforgivable no-no.

About damn time! Im sick and tired of these hollywood stars having a gold spoon in their mouth when it comes to breaking the law. Now only if they'd star raiding their houses when the morons tell someone else on TV that they mixed their fathers ashes and blow and snorted it. Police had every right to raid that fools house and search. Robert downy Jr is another one that needs some prison time for all the drugs hes gotten busted for.

Anyone want to make a bet she never sees the inside of a jail? She was picked up twice if I read it right since her license had been suspended. While at it they should put that twit mother of hers in jail right beside the bimbo B&*%h.
