I believe 53 Canadians have been KIA in Afganistan so far.
A few weeks ago there was a thread in here stating 344,000 Americans died fighting WW-2. Canada at 1 tenth the size lost over 44,000 killed in WW-2.
One million Canadians (1 in 12) served overseas in WW-2.
Furthermore over 66,000 Canadians died in WW-1, from a country of only 8 million, more then 600,000 served. Thirty six hundred died in one battle.
I am eternally gratefull to all veterans who fought against fasism in the great wars, Canadian, American, Russian............
I am also endlessly frustrated with ignorant statements like these from American Pride who seem to be under the common illusion that ww-2 was only fought and won by the USA. Your ignorance is showing. I suggest you do a bit more reading about the wars of the last century.
Here's a gem for you................less than half the troops who hit the French beaches on D-Day were American. Two divisions were British, 2 American and 1 was Canadian.
