Just wanted to note a couple of things that were interesting to me in the Democratic debate tonight.
First, it was noted that Bill Richardson has the highest NRA grade of any presidential candidate in either party (according to the host.)
Secondly, each candidate was asked if they had a gun in the house. Several candidates raised their hands. I'm pretty sure that Clinton, Edwards and Obama did not raise theirhands. (Again, not 100% positive, it was just a quickpan of the presenters.)
Next, I was semi-impressed withSenator Biden and Governor Richardson. They really came across as the moderate candidates when they answered some questions.
Asfar as the others, I got exactly what I expected.
I watched it. It looked like a few of them waited a while before raising their hands. Hillary is a moron, she lived in the White House for 8 years with armed Secret Service around her 24/7. She had guns in the house. Hard to believe she didn't know they were armed, of course lots of things went on in that house she didn't know about! It was also fun to see the guy from Alaska, Gravel, go mental on national TV. Looks like he's the first one to blink off the radar.
I like Richardson. Of course I guess he doesn't fit the liberal mold well enough, as he seemed to draw some pretty tough questioning from Williams (his stance on Gonzales, for example).
I was just surprised that Kucinich wasn't the biggest nut on the stage.

RE: First Presidential Debate
Too early in the process for me to watch. This year it seems like it is extra early. ThePOTUS gets elected and learns the job during the first year. Year 2 he is working hard for the country and getting things done but is distracted by mid term election stumping for members of his party. Year 3 is the start of keeping an eye on the opposition, being careful to not screw up so he can be re-elected and playing partisan politics due to the mid term power shift. Year 4 is all out for re-election or campaigning for a party member if another term isn"™t possible. I guess we really are getting our money's worth.

I just happened to read that each of the candidates flew in a different private jet to this debat, even though 5 of them came from D.C. So much for environmentalism.
