Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

I think some information has to be allowed to be know by ATF. I dont like the idea of mentally defective persons getting a-hold of a gun. But that would not be P.C. enought.

I agree Burnie - anyone adjudicated to be mentally unstable, an unfit parent, subject to restraining order, a victim of a chemical addiction, or a threat to society/himself - should immediately be turned into the NICS system and barred from buying at the point of sale.

The goobernor of Virginia is currently taking steps to close this "loophole" according to last night's news. While I don't generally support gun control, mental defectives don't deserve the right to own one in the first place.

This is a double edged sword. Make it manidatory for every mental health profession to report anyone that shows up in a phychiatrist office to the goverment, and now a person might not seek help due to this.

I know a guy I work with that suffers from depression in a bad way. I feel for him and wish he would seek help. His life would greatly improve. But he holds a clearance and scared that he will be flagged as unfit if he does seek help. And if the agency finds out he is severely depressed, and didn't seek help, he might lose his clearance. So the guy conceals it as best as he can. I believe he has considers suicide by the little things he has said. Part of me doesnt' want to know, cause if I know, I would feel I need to report him, and part of me wants to help. So he seems to be digging into scripture, and for the past 6 months, I see a difference in him. I pray to God thathe can help him.

I am with Ifferd on this, livingin a free society carries an amount of risk. Unless you want to live in a police state, this is whatit is.

Is being protected by the A.C.L.U.

To sum it up

Or
