Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default News media and showing these pic's and videos over and over.

Does anyone else think its disgusting that they have made this POS a star on TV. I can't understand why the keep playing this stuff over and over. If someone else has these inclinations to commit a mass murder and see's that if you do it and make a video about it then you'll get your picture and ideals and random thoughts all over the news, it would have to help to push them over theedge togo thru with it.

I can understand showing what he looks like and maybe a couple of pics but to just play that rediculous video over and over it horrible.

The VT kids have actuallystated "It's like rubbing salt in our wounds" A man loses his job for hurting a basketball team with some dumb joke but who cares about the kids in Blacksburg the ratings are just more important.

The media doesnt want to play the destruction ot the Towers to remind us about 911, so we continue to have ill feelings towards terrorists but have no problem making this insane/evil etc... kid, the most seen person on TV.

It could be said, that one way to stop these kinds of horrible insidents, would be not to give them the coverage. Mommy and Daddy didn't give me enough attention as a child, now I am a grown up psycho path, and I want the attention I deserve. The media plays right into their hands, and the millions of voyers give them the attention that they want.

Slow news days are only good for poor ratings from the network and sat news organizations. The fluff they show is pretty boring so they really are always waiting for something big to occur and they play it to the max. Not much on Imus now that they have something better to report on and dissect. Just the media way and that won't change I guess.

Funny to think if Imus did said that bad joke this week he would have never been fired. It prob wouldn't have even made the news.

This gives the psycho exactly what he wanted. It's reinforcing the bahavior. It doesn't matter that he is dead, either.

I heard a statistic that 5% of the population is sociopathic. Most of these aren't severe, and most of the severe ones are well controlled through some means. But in a population of 250 million, that means there are a few out there who want to inflict this kind of damage on society, and seeing Cho "glamorized" like this, his agendaplayed over and over in the mass media, give them hope that they too will make the impact they want.

I think a tragic effect is to encourage "copy-cat" behavior by similar psychos.

The media is a business, pure and simple and all businesses want the attention of consumers of their product in order to make a profit. They did very similiar with 911, as images and stories were everywhere for months. They don't do it now as it is 5 1/2 years ago and Americas attention span is way too short to be interested it 911 any longer. We are still in Iraq and Afhganistan, but if most Americans were truly honest, I bet they would say they rarely pay attention or truly care about something that does not exicte or directly affect them. BUSINESS, BUSINESS, BUSINESS.

I saw that at lunch today, I was having lunch with a childhood friend I hadn't seen for over twenty years and the news was doing an ESPN like play by play of how he entered the building, which corners he turned, who was shot where... Damn near put me off of my sushi. Now is the time for healing, and the probable lawsuits, not a microscopic examination of how it went down. This has got to be brutal on the families seeing this vulturistic crap 24 hurs a day everywhere they look. Sickening...[:@]
