Quit cutting your grass every week. You all seen the report on the bees. Well it's from the chemicals killing the so called weeds. No flowers no bees. Kill the flowers(weeds) you kill the pollination. It's not hard to figure out. The damage has been done allready. Can it be reversed? Yes, take the wish flowers and let them populate your lawns.Cut once a month and watch the difference in the bees. They will come back.

Bees are really important to our lives and there certainly are numerous reasons for their reduction. I have friends who are bee keepers and they are having many problems with all sorts of issues. People spraying their fruit trees at the wrong time when the blossoms are coming out. Certainly lawn fertilizer with weed control is a part of it since it is introducing chemical poison into the environment. Now we have non native bees which are creeping into the areas from south to north. Not only are the African bees a problem but now they are having issues with some domestic queens who won't stay and pull all the bees away to another site. There are also problems with bee mites and many keepers lose over half of their hives every year to them. Bees in the yard are like canaries in a coal mine. Nobody notices them until they are gone.
