Default MI License Doubling

Anyone from Michigan pissed about the cost of kill tags getting doubled the same year we rattified a bill to keep all the revenue from Parks and Recreation to stay in Parks and Rec.

Is this due to excessive DNR spending?

I'm 21 years old and in college I can barely afford a fishing license at around 40 bucks, and now they want to double it. That means if I want to hunt everything I want to I'm putting in well over 100 dollars if not close to 200. What do they expect kids to do these days when they charge that much for a damn license.

For some of you not im Michigan how much do you pay for resident tags?

If memory serves, Mi. hasn't raised it's license fees for some time prior to this event, someone from Mi. correct me if I'm wrong. Indiana did this several years ago after a 14 year hiatus from license increases, it was part of my inspiration to get a Lifetime License, if your state offers one jump on it before they phase them out like my state did. Get a low value credit card temporarily to finance it if you have to, there's no better deal for your hunting dollar.

I live in tenn and our lisence are:$28 resident combo hunt/fish lisence....$28 archery tag....$28 muzzleloader tag..
$28 rifle tag..So if you hunt all three seasons your going to fork over $112..That is crazy and i do hunt all seasons and im only 20,Miman i know exactly what your talking about..Its hard enough just starting out on your own and then have to go and pay that much money to hunt...

There are many reasons this is happening, but the one reason I'm most out of sorts with is out of whack budget we have due to the commie rag-hag we have at the helm. Governorness Granhag is going to run this state into the ground. She's now proprosing to raise the gas tax $.10/gal to pay for our lousy roads.

And Kevin, MI has had increases in the tags over the past years but it hasn't been much. I can deal with that, but doubling? No need IMO.

I have been getting the all season license in MN. I recall it is $85 for it and it comes with a buck tag and two antlerless tags. I believe that an Archery license is $26 and firearms the same.

Just another reason for me to be happy right where I'm at. $33 a year for a Sportsman's License, covers everything except the duck stamp and salt water. Gonna look into getting a lifetime lic. for my son though--never know when it could all change.
