Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default PETA, how would/do you conduct yourself?

I was wondering how others would or do conduct themselves when in contact with those affiliated with PETA? I ask as the camoflaging deer post in deerhunting got me thinking/hoping that we as hunters conduct ourselves with class and diplomacy versus hate, ignorance and dispictable behavior. I was struck by one particular post on the camoing deer attachment, whether true or not, where one poster, presummably a hunter responded something to the affect that PETA members should camo their wives, so it would make it easier to rape them. I don't know about anyone else, but responses/anger like that is disturbing and I hope that not how we as hunters would express our anger or try to make points. Any feedback would be appreciated.

i find it better to ignore and not say anything. this seems to eat at them even more because most of the time they are just wanting a reaction out of you. atleast this strategy works with my wife.

I try and potray myself as a sane rational person. And use logical arguments and facts against them otherwise, I think if we act like PETA or a bumbling idiot or a ignorant redneck like we are sometimes portrayed as. If we act like that we turn off alot of people that are otherwise sensible people who buy the other sides argument, thats why I feel as hunters and outdoorsmen we need to be as professional as possible as if we are trying get a job from these people.

Thanks camocop. I just think that we accomplish nothing but provide more ammo as being an ignorant bumpkin if angry, ignorant and grossly offensive.

i agree with you, even rational arguements go unnoticed with PETA. they are dead set in their beliefs and will never change.

You can't reason with the unreasonable, ignore them when you can, beat them down with facts when you can't.

They do exist, but encounters with them are rare outside of one of their silly stunts because there are far fewer of them than they claim. Much like Jerry Falwell's so called Moral Majority in the 80s they inflate their membership numbers to appear larger than they really are.
