Default VP Running Mate for Thompson??

If Fred Thompson ran for President, who would you like to see as his VP running mate? So far, I'm seriously thinking about Newt. What does everybody else think?

I happen to like Ron Paul but am realistic enough to realize that Newt would bring more votes. Ron Paul is more of conservative than Newt and has terrific credentials. Ron Paul is also viewed as a bit of an obstructionist and only appeals to and draws support from a small minority. A good VP candidate is supposed to bring more support to the campaign and help get his boss elected through that support. I know Ron would be a good trooper about doing whatever was needed to be a VP candidate but I honestly think he currently has less drawing power than Newt.

IMHO, Newt as a VP candidate would bring a broader based support to a Republican campaign. If elected, Newt would also add a little extra zing to an administration and a lot of ideas. Newt has a lot of good ideas, is a definite leader and I think he would be able to bring something extra to the table. I happen to like Ron Paul a lot and think he would be a good VP but just think Newt brings a little more to a campaign and administration.

Paul or Tancredo, either one would suit me. Now that would be a conservative ticket!
