Military spending was destined to decline, along with the down-sizing of the military following the ending of the cold war with the USSR, regardless who was the president. Clinton happended to be the pres at the time.

Here's some more drivel and another partisan Slam Dunk.
Having worked for 6 presidents in 25 yrs of military service I can honestly say I never saw such utter disrespect for a Commander and Chief as in the Clinton years.Might be drivel to some but the truth hurts unless you were among the Funny Bunny Gays that snuck in the door under the Don't ask Don't Tell Clinton orders.

Of course this has little to do with military budget rumors surrounding the infamous Clinton years - or maybe it does

You could have had any one as president once the cold war ended and spending would have declined; even if Reagan had a couple more terms. As far as gays in the military, the implementation of dont ask dont tell, likely would have allowed more gaysto enterthe military, but wouldn't do anything to prevent those identified as gay as remaining in the military. We have had gays in the military through out history.

I agree - long before Clinton there was base closures,down sizing military,big RIF's etc...1st big hit that I remember was during Desert Shield/Storm Era.

Gays in military and Clinton was a off the cuff remark.
