Muslims won't handle pork or let someone in their cab if the passenger is drunk. Now we have some conservative Christians who won't sell the morning after pill. What's next, hard core Catholic liquor store clerks who won't ring up that pack of Trojans that you have included along with your two bottles of wine?

The whole thing about muslims and pork, at least muslims living in the U.S. is a bit overblown. I work with a muslim from Bengal and have seen him slurping up a bowl of my chicken and sausage gumbo while saying how much he wished that he had a cold beer to go with it. Kind of like Southern Baptist who view booze as Satan's Kool Aid, but who always have a bottle of Jack Daniels stashed around the house.

Just fire them if they wont do the job they were hired for..plan and simple.
No discrimination there..you wont do your job YOUR FIRED.......and i will take a family pac of pork chops...thank you very much....
If this was in Virginia, they could get the boot no ifs, ands, or buts. Employers giveth, and they can taketh away. It's their money. Scanning all items is part of the job, and it ticks customers off to make them wait while another cashier comes over to do your job for you.
