Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default McCain ducks Iraq Vote

Apparently McCain ducked the Iraq vote in the Senate. That's not a very smart move for somebody running for President. People want to know what he thinks but even more they want to know he'll take a stand one way or another.[:@]

McCain can use all the strategery he wants but he's throwing away one of his greatest assets--Being willing to take a stand. With Fred Thompson just considering entering the race, conservatives everywhere are reexamining purportedly conservative candidates and many of them simply are NOT conservative. McCain may be going after liberals (Hillary and Obama's main supporters) but he's not scoring points with conservatives which he absolutely needs to have a chance at winning. Too many conservatives are PO'd at Bush and pols who are supposed to be conservative but act otherwise. Conservatives simply are not going to accept somebody telling them they're trying to make themselves look a little more liberal to get some liberal votes. Conservatives will feel sold out and simply not vote. Whoever is advising McCain should know this and be advising McCain about it (although McCain should know it too).

Not sure what he's up to, but no, it doesn't seem very smart. We'll probably get a load of damage control from his PR staff on Monday.
