Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Good 'ole Newt:

"Shouldn't be labeled as a hypocrite"? Get real. That's the VERY DEFINITION of it! He was doingthe same thing he was destroying Clinton for. Again, the very definition of HYPOCRITE.

So, I guess some of ya'll can now lay off the Clinton/adulterer thing for awhile now. Lest you too be called--a hypocrite. Seems the tables have turned again.

My problem with Clinton isn't that he had an affair (not that it's a good thing), it's that he lied under oath. The end, he should have been held accountable for that...

I can sorta understand that.

But, most everyone loves to bash Clinton over having this affair. Yet, here basically the leader against him is doing the same thing! Can't prove it, but I would bet that he "lied" to his then wife. Isn't lying, well, lying? Doesn't matter if it's to a grand jury or your wife. And for years Reps have railed Clinton for being so "immoral". Yet here's their ring leader doing the same. Oh, the irony.................... [:-]

And just so no one thinks I'm just defending Clinton, I'm not. Just pointing out the hypocrisy that's all. And, Newt trying to lessen the fact that he did the same act. But, yet he's somehow not as bad for it.

This is what EVERYONE who disliked the way things went down felt like. Most liberals ALWAYS turn it back around to this, though. It's nowhere close to why people got upset. I don't care if he had an affair with a man. If his lying of said affair conflicted with someone's rights being violated......then I have a problem with that. His lying of his affair denied someone a fair trial. THAT is the issue.......

First off, I'm definately NOT a liberal. And come on, him lying under oath is not the issue here. Never has been. Atleast not around here anyway.

Unless I'm mistaken, Newt was the then Speaker right? That makes him 3rd in line for the WH. Him talking about "high ranking officers lying"? I'd say that's a REALLY high office. What differnce does "lying under oath" make anyway? It may mean more in "man's law", but not God's.

Ifferd, I'm actually expecting it. And that's cool. The truth hurts. People are always gonna get defensive when their teams' faults are exposed.

Can we stay on the Clinton/perjuror thing? Isn't that where the line gets drawn? Gingrich is a hypocrite for pursuing perjury allegations against Clinton if Gingrich was also committing perjury. It just happens that Clinton's perjury was about adultery. But, it wasn't the adultery that got him impeached. It was the perjury.

Please note that this is in no way condoning the adulterous acts of either of them. Just trying to compare apples to apples rather than apples to oranges in connection with the allegation of hypocrisy.

My problem with what Clinton did was not that he had an affair. It was that he was banging an intern in the oval office on the job. What do you think would happen to me at my jobif I was caught banging a girl in my office.

I don't know if every is into the bashing Clinton thing over the affair. It was not right to waste our money and funds on making him say uncle. As its not right or fair to waste out tax money with teh dems going after bush on every little tiny thing to point of being rediculus. We the citizens are getting the shaft anyway it goes. Its definately not right for Newt or Clinton to be in such a responsible role and do such an irresponsible thing. I realize people like to see things the way they want to see it. But having leaders behave this way is not good for any of us.

I wouldn't vote for newt. for the exact reason of the affair. We need a hero and we need one now. At this point I dont' care if he is dem, repub, or what.
