A few words about him

While less telling than his voting record, it does speak volumes about him. I like what I see, which probably means that he has no chance.

Tancredo's a tremendous congressman. He just isn't presidential material. Americans are bad-tempered at times, but not fiery enough to swallow some of his rhetoric. He is one of the most articulate politicians I've ever heard, but the "common man" probably will shun him unless he does a 180° on his principles and starts giving handouts.

I like what I've seen so far from Tancredo, but I don't know enough about him at this point.

I do think that regardless who winds up on the ticket, a staunch conservative will probably not win in 2008; it'll have to be someone more moderate. That's just the way the political pendulum is swinging right now. Americans perceive the current administration as very conservative, although it isn't so much so, and don't like the things that are being accomplished or that aren't being accomplished, and they'll vote accordingly. The exception to that would be if the Democrats nominate Clinton. Then, it's a wide-open ballgame, because she will turn off so many potential Democrat voters.
