Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Here you go Chew on this!

Here is the way I see things. This country's motto is land of the free and I think we are losing it slowly.
First they wanted us to wear seatbelts, then helmets. These 2 items have nothing to do with anyone else but me and using them only affects me.
They are now telling me what I should eat with this whole ban on transfats or whatever the hell it is they call it.
Now comes the smoking ban thingand except for smoking indoors where this effects others it again only affects me and since they know this is a restriction of my freedom what are they doing.... Taxing the crap out of a pack of smokes, which in turn is forcing some to suffer financially as they try and mold you into their beliefs.
I am sure you can think of some other type of TIHSLLUB they have fooled you into believing (Human causedGlobal Warming ring a bell)
Sure lives could be saved Yada Yada Yada, but who are you to price or ban me out of my freedoms. It's my life.
Now they are trying to change our constitution by banning certain weapons THEY feel threatened by.
I don't know call me nuts ( which many have) but if you have enough money to have some study done by some over paid crooked clownto try and prove to the people it's for their own good and get the masses fooled into believing, then your playing into the whole thing. WAKE UP
Where are the WMD's? Fooled you didn't they. Now your sons and daughters are paying the price.
They are taking more and more of our freedoms and fooling most of the public for their own agenda.......Which is?????
Are you one of those people who watch CNN or other BSand hear some statement or study and then pass it on to everyone as written in stone?
In my 45 years of existence, they have controlled us more and more, when everyone before me got along just fine.
Terrorists control by fear. I feel the same thing is going on here in our own country by our own government by scaring the people into submission with their poles, studies and just plain old propaganda that so many buy into.
I just thought I would give some of you who have to come here day in and day out, totry and rationalize all that you here and see, something to pick apart and do for the day.

Generally speaking, I agree wth you. But, there is a small problem with the first couple of parts of your rant... With regard to helmets, seatbelts, and smoking, it's not just you who is affected. The rest of us subsidize you by paying increased insurance costs.

No. Of course not. That would cut into my diet and hobbies.

If it makes a difference in the analysis, there's no constitutional right to smoke or drive without a seatbelt, and people have to eat to survive.
