Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default DPMS Drops Sponsorship of Nugent's Show

I just read this on Ted Nugent's Forum board. Apparently this issue is widening.

Quote:
"My BloodBrothers, I have never asked for personal assistance on my own behalf, however, DPMS Panther Arms claim they are getting hammered by the antigunners amongst us (lunatic fringe for sure) to abandon any relationship with me or my TV show for my stand to upgrade Jim Zumbo into a pro-DPMS rifle guy. HUH!!! Unbelievable for sure, but the cannibals amongst us are beyond xplanation. I respectfully request any of you who care, to write a brief, POLITE note to DPMS boss Randy Luth via Sasha at NugentUSA@cs.com, with your take on my standing up to educate upgrade & recruit JZ & his Nugely discovered 2nd Amendment absolutism. Ya with me? ASAP plz!! Brief & POLITE! HITIT! Happy shootemup weekend!

Hunters who are standing against Zumbo's comments are "antigunners"? Nugent is still the same ol' idiot, I see.

I'm all for Zumbo being able to make a comeback, as I've already said. As for Nugent, I cannot stand the image he portrays of hunting. His comment about those complaining about Zumbo being "antigunners" is ludicrous.

I don't see any reason to trash Nugent because we wants to "convert" Zumbo. He's probably the perfect guy for the job, I suppose. I also don't see any reason to write DPMS aboutthe matter, though.

You have it backwards, the anti-gunners the Nuge is talking about is like Quicksilver here who doesn't want Zumbo to be associated with 'terrorist rifles' let alone allow citizens to own one. They are the ones calling DPMS and using some sort of twisted logic that they will boycott DPMS for the company's association with Nugent, even though none of them will ever buy one anyhow.

Briman, if that's the case then I'll certainly stand corrected. It wouldn't be the first time I've mistook something.

Im not quite awake yet but let me see if Im following this.

Zumbo shot his mouth off against the use of "assualt weapons" and hunters turned on him and his carreers more or less over.

Nugent decides to educate Zumbo on these guns and maybe show him where he is wrong and hunters turn on Nugent and demand his "assault rifle" manufacturing sposors pull the plug on his show.

The "assualt rifle" manufacturer actually goes along with it and pulls thier sponsorship of one of the few people willing to go out on a limb and promote the use of these same weapons.

Its no wonder the antis are gonna kick our asses in the end, we somehow expend more energy attacking ourselves then weve ever put into combating the antis. If the number of people that write in to Outdoor Life and hunting show sponsors took the time to write one letter to thier elected officials imagine the difference it could make[:'(]

Nugent needs to do drugs. I think I will write to the NRA and tell them to drop both, Nugent and Zumbo or I am going to cancel my families memberships. Atleast they should make zumbo pay 4 or 5 times the amount now for his anti ways. Pinish him every where. Why just stop at his job. Hammer that idiot. Make him join a militia also. Then after he proved his self. Lower his membership down to 2 times the amountbut never reg prices and never be able to work in the hunting industry again. I think ted will back off when he won't get the support he needs. He will say good bye to zumbo soon enough. We don't need any more traitors in this sport we love. Ted is far whacked out to be on TV and for youngsters to watch. He's an idiot and looks and acts like a deranged lunatic on his shows. I use to like ted before I got a chance to see how he really acts.
