I'm curious to hear your guysthoughts on this.

I think if kid out of high school doesn't know these things, he's in sad shape anyway.

We hire a whole lot of people that came out of the military. Some of the best electronical techs we have are from the military. They tell everyone that the military was the best thing for them. Just what they tell me. Sounds like someone has an agenda with this. Imagine that.

Recruiters push hard and don't give up, but come on now. It seems like these people didn't read any military history before enlisting. There are always critics and whiners, but there are also a heck of a lot of people signing up because they believe in the mission. Whatever the case, it's not something to be taken lightly.

Some random thoughts:

1. Some recruiters will lie to you.

2. Why would you trust anything the guberment says?

3. Many of these facts are available, if you look for them. (try reading
your contract)

4. Who in their right mind would think that a member of the armed
services won't be sent to war? (it is their job, afterall)

5. If this Sheehan chick expects us to take her seriously as a
spokeswoman (authority)against/on the war, why didn't she advise her
son of the dangers and investigate the recruiters' claims? How can she
claim that she believed he wouldn't be sent to war?

6. Women in the military have easier standards. (some could smoke a lot
of men, though)

7. Racism is no more or less prevalent in the military than in society
overall. (ask someone who has been accused of it in the armed forces,
and see how much harsher the treatment VS civilian accusations)

8. Why would people believe that the military bases wouldn't have some
ammount of crime present in society?

For any who have any problem with any of the content in the video................and recruiters want to be truly fair and open................. why don't recruiters show it?

Duh, probably same reason when I want a engineer that knows his stuff, I don't take him and show him the bad heating system, I don't take time telling him that most of the time the janitor doesn't fill the TP rolls, I don't concentrate on the stock purchase program, which I think sucks. I tell them about possibilitys and show them on the best test gear they will use. I tell him about the great resources he has. I tell him about the amzing countries he is going to visit and the fine hotels, I don't tell him he is going to have to work 16 hours a day while there. Its a concept old as time man.
