We've heard so many "experts" repeat that Greenland and Antarctic ice caps are melting "so fast" and we're supposed presume that we're all doomed.
Evidence does exist for anyone who cares to take the time.
""reports that two of the largest glaciers have suddenly slowed, bringing the rate of melting last year down to near the previous rate. At one glacier, Kangerdlugssuaq, "average thinning over the glacier during the summer of 2006 declined to near zero, with some apparent thickening in areas on the main trunk.""
"Greenland was about as warm or warmer in the 1930"s and 40"s, and many of the glaciers were smaller than they are now. This was a period of rapid glacier shrinkage world-wide, followed by at least partial re-expansion during a colder period from the 1950"s to the 1980"s. And in case you thought this was just one end of the global where this might be happening:
""most of Antarctica has actually been cooling for the past couple of decades (see here for more details). And now comes word that the snow and ice cover over large portions of Antarctica has been increasing, leading to a drawdown of global sea level." http://www.worldclimatereport.com/index.php/2005/05/27/antarctic-ice-a-global-warming-snow-job/

I have a feeling global warming is real and cyclical. Not as bad as gore says, but not as good as others. I mean an ozone layer served an important purpose. And its fact, that its pretty well depleted over us.
