Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default The inconvenient truth....about Al Gore!

Gore urges us to conserve energy, yet he uses 20x the energy of an average household.[&:]

*In my best Al Gore voice*

"Well, NT, that's a good point, and I'm glad you mentioned it. Now, NT, what we all must carefully consider is that sometimes you have to waste energy to save energy."

But he drives a Prius, so it cancels the rest out. Thats probably his logic at least.

What I love is all this green power talk. Sounds great, but about all we can make alcohol out of is corn or at least on a large scale. If we turned ever kernel of corn into alcohol, we would only meet about 30% of the nations demand. Besides, Ethenol is very inefficient. It has less energy potential than any other hydrocarbon, so we will have to use a lot more to get the same energy return. Besides, anything that burns will release Carbon dioxide and water. Use twice as much alcohol, you still have lots of carbon dioxide emissions.

We are working on cellulose fermentations, but until we can synthesize termite gut enzymes, no dice.
