Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Believe it ornot there's a thread over on the archery forum in which some people have no problem with "sensible gun control."

Ive noticed that. Im an avid archer, but I like my guns as well. You can find the same grip by exculsive gun hunters. They want archery hunting banned due to the "ineffectiveness" of a bow. It sickens me to see hunters fighting among hunters. We got enough antis out there, so we need to stick together.

As for the guns they want to ban, are some of my favorites. Im glad they didnt mention my beloved 300wby.

They can have my firearms when they pry them from my cold dead hands.

They are very sensitive about that in the bowhunting forum. Being known at the law school as an avid hunter and gun owner, one of the libs started quizzing me about bowhunting. I'm not much of a bowhunter, so I didn't have very good answers. I thought I would reverse roles and do the same thing in the bowhunting forum to see if I could fish up someanswers I liked better, but that one was quickly quashed by the mods, and I got several very heated PM's and e-mails from some very unhappy members.

IMO if one cannot down a deer with a bow shot, then one should not have fired an arrow upon it....bow hunting represents a primative way of hunting that takes us back to the spear chucker days...love it...I also love the rifle season too...heck I just love hunting so much....I...I...just wanna say giggity giggity...

I think the brady campaign needs to focus on those "sniper-bows" since they're silenced and must be created for maximum death and destruction.

Have you ever noticed that the gun grabbers refer to LEOs as "cops" more than "police officers". I can't say that means anything in particular, but I just get the feeling that there's a hint of condescension.

Yeah, man, got to watch out for that dreaded .30-30 sniper round. A man with, say basicmilitary training and/or a concealed handgun permit can put a scope on his .30-30 sniper rifleand take out a cop in body armor from a quarter mile away. Ban it.

And since no sniper rifle has any sporting use, I'd better go take a blowtorch to my 700 ADL .30-06, and completely forget about the two deer I took with it last season. Ban it.

Ugh, I've lost what litter humor I had for this topic. These people are pathetic. The scariest thing is that they could turn this kind of ignorance and belief in urban myth into legislation that could really screw us over, not to mention crap on the Second Amendment. Keep talking to people who will listen. Someof our friends and family willbelieve this crap unless you/we set them straight (having experience hunting gives us a hell of a lot more authority than any of these pasty, trembling gun grabbers...try it sometime).

Those people are complete idiots. Here's an excerpt:

Quote:
The tragic proliferation of Sniper Rifles
I would like to take a moment to comment on the proliferation of Sniper Rifles.
Sniper Rifles are typically equipped with a high-powered scope, and every single one of them can blow through the body armor cops wear. They can even penetrate multiple police cars. Does the Second Amendment protect cop-killer Sniper Rifles? The NRA certainly thinks so, along with the powerful gun lobby that wants your children and your law enforcement officers to be at risk from these weapons of mass destruction. Some of these Sniper Rifles can even penetrate ballistic or armored glass, lightly armored vehicles, and armored limousines. Senator Ted Kennedy attempted to solve this with an important bill that would have banned armor piercing ammunition and protected lawful firearm commerce:

"Another rifle caliber, the 30.30 caliber, was responsible for penetrating three officers' armor and killing them in 1993, 1996, and 2002. This ammunition is also capable of puncturing light-armored vehicles, armored trucks capable of bursting through malls, ballistic or armored glass, armored limousines, even a 600-pound safe with 600 pounds of safe armor plating.....

..It is outrageous and unconscionable that such ammunition continues to be sold in the United States of America.."

Should our elected officials live under the threat of reprisal on their lives from disgruntled constituents? The Gun Lobby seems to think so. We disagree.

Sniper Rifles can be equipped with precision optics above even what the Military uses, allowing a sniper to deliver rounds within millimeters of accuracy - enabling them to engage targets at distances of well over one hundred meters. Is there a pressing need to be able to kill with accuracy at that distance? It is too far to justify as self defense. It is too far for hunting. It is only useful for those who wish to murder from afar.

A 30-30 piercing body armor, multiple vehicles, and 600 lbs of armor plating? ROFLMAO... And, oh my gosh. Scopes allow you to deliver rounds accurately at ranges of one hundred meters and more. Who could have imagined such things??? What a friggin' moron.

Ditto!!! It is absolutely amazing how ignorant some people are and yet they insist on opening their mouth and confirming it for the public.
