Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Republican hypocrisy

As I said back when the judicial nominations were at full steam, the Republicans wouldn't outlaw Senate filibustering, even though they were close to having the support to do so, because they wouldn't be able to use it themselves in the future.

Now what do we see but the same Republicans who were bitching about the Democrats during the judicial confirmations using the same filibustering technique to avoid letting the troop resolution come to a vote.

I think all the fuss the Democrats are making over a resolution that is non-binding is silly. But filibustering is equally silly, and shows that some of the Republicans in Congress haven't risen above the juvenile Democrat tactics, though I hoped that they would. Support it or oppose it, but let the dadgum thing come to an up or down vote and be done with it, and get on with the business of the country.

Of course silly also are the newspapers editorializing against the Republican filibuster now who were silent on the issue while the Democrats were using the filibuster during the judicial appointment process.

The time has long since come and gone for the filibuster to be done away with, taking it out of the hands of Democrats OR Republicans.

Politics is a vulgar food fight. Yes, it is silly and juvenile. And I wouldn't mind seeing the filibuster retired.

I think both parties are full of dirty scum but I fall in line with the beliefs of Republicans more. Our county could be so much stronger if they all worked for the good of the country instead of the good of the party.

Personally, I'm a big fan of the filibuster. The more time they spend arguing, the less time they have to screw things up.

Maybe they should just replace fillibusters with a pistol duel at high noon. It would be a win-win. Faster decision on legislation and one less politician.
