First we have foreign fighters in Iraq. Then we start loosing aircraft to shoulder fired missiles & now this Al Sader guy is said to have reached Iran.
Who the hell is guarding this boarder The Iraq's and Iranians have been enemies for ever how many roads could there be between the two countries? I for the life of me can not figure how we can let this area go unguarded .If there are to many roads to watch them blow them up .Use aircraft or satellites Even manned check points.

Its almost like these people can't see the forest for the trees. Why aren't we killing these guys out in the sand instead of in cities going door to door.
One of the primary reasons for an open border is religious pilgrimage. There are many Islamic holy sights in both Iraq and Iran, and many faithful (civilians) going back and forth. Killing pilgrims will only make our situation worse.

The key is to go after only the militants. Pissing off people who want to see this or that shrine before they die is going to sour the entire population.
